Hayden received his Bachelor of Science in Molecular Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Nevada, Reno. He is currently a graduate student pursuing a career in medicine. 

 




Zongliang Zhang

Zongliang obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from Fudan University, Shanghai, China (Majored in Biochemistry, a 5-years system). He earned a Master of Science degree from the University of Nevada, Reno. Now he is a Ph.D. candidate in the Cellular and Molecular Biology graduate Program.

Yue Wang BS

Yue obtained her Bachelor degree of Pharmacy in Fujian Medical University.  Shen then worked as a technician in the National Institute of Biological Science in Beijing for five years.  She is a graduate student in the Cell and Molecular Biology Graduate program.  She enjoys dancing, jogging and painting.




Kathleen Schegg, PhD

Dr. Schegg received her M.Sc. and Ph.D. from the Department of Biochemistry at University of Nevada, Reno. She is an expert on protein chemistry and enzymology.  She worked in the Nevada Proteomics Center to conduct proteomic analyses before joining the Yan lab.  Dr. Schegg is working on a project aiming to develop the first ever oral male contraceptive drug, called SD-1. She likes hiking and traveling. 





Wei Yan, MD, PhD

University of Nevada, Reno Foundation Professor 


​Dr. Yan received his MD from China Medical University in 1990, and PhD from University of Turku, Finland in 2000.  After his post-doc training at Baylor College of Medicine, he started his own lab at the University of Nevada School of Medicine in 2004.  Dr. Yan received numerous awards, including the 2009 Nevada Higher Education System Rising Star Award, the 2009 Society for the Study of Reproduction Young Investigator Award, the 2012 American Society of Andrology Young Andrologist Award, the 2013 Nevada Healthcare Hero Award for Research and Technology, the 2017 UNR Research Award, and the 2018 Society for the Study of Reproduction Research Award. In 2016, Dr. Yan was named the University of Nevada Reno Foundation Professor, the highest honor the University bestows upon its faculty. In 2017, he was elected Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). He likes hiking, skiing, swimming, and photography. 


Kyle (Zhuqing) Wang BS, MSc

Kyle obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Life Science at Shanxi Normal University. He then earned his Master of Science degree in Animal Science at China Agricultural University. He is a PhD student in Cell and Molecular Biology (CMB) program.  His hobbies include playing Ping Pong, basketball, and billiards. He enjoys listening to music.
